Emilia di Girolamo is a TV scriptwriter of Italian and Anglo-Indian heritage. She has a First in Drama and a PhD in the rehabilitation of offenders using drama based techniques, and has worked extensively in UK prisons. Emilia lives in Hastings, UK.

Emilia is currently writing a 90' single drama THE HEART INSIDE for C4 with Ecosse Films and working on an adaptation of Erin Kelly's novel THE POISON TREE with STV/ITV1.

Emilia is also developing brand new original drama series with Tiger Aspect, BBC Wales, Bonafide Films, Clerkenwell Films & BBC drama.

Emilia is Lead Writer and Co-Producer for Season 5 & 6 of Law & Order UK (Kudos/NBCU/ITV). You can catch brand new episodes with Season 6 of Law & Order UK on ITV1 in January & February 2012. Emilia has co-produced the whole season and written SURVIVOR'S GUILT (January 6th), LINE UP (February 3rd) and FAULT LINES (February 17th).

Emilia is working exclusively with Jeremy Bamber to tell the true story of the White House Farm murders and his ongoing wrongful imprisonment as he fights for justice. You can read a piece Emilia has written about the case here.

Emilia worked with prison activist Pauline Campbell up until her death, developing a drama about her daughter Sarah's death in Styal prison and Pauline's campaign to stop more vulnerable women dying in Britain's jails.
